Try something new and bake with beetroots. It is a nice addition to the chocolate and gives it a sweet and nutty flavour, as well as a really nice colour. The two main ingredients harmonise and give you a special eating-experience.

No absolutely not, it´s delish. Stay and read on.
Lately I´ve been seeing more and more recipes with beetroot and I had to jump on the bandwagon. I thought I try a chocolate cake variation and no one noticed it, no one! “That´s a super cake, I love the nutty flavour.” or “So chocolaty and fluffy.” to only mention two responses.
I guess I must admit that the cake should have more ganache. But what can I say? This simple two ingredients ganache is so tasty I had to try it one-two-three times.
So if you´re up to cake recipe that is

you have to try this one.

(Recipe) Beetroot-Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

180 g flour
1 sachet baking powder
230 g beetroot
200 ml flavourless oil
200 g sugar
80 g cocoa powder
3 eggs
250 g dark chocolate
250 ml double cream

Instructions

Mix peeled and diced beetroots and eggs in a blender until it reaches a smooth texture.
Give flour, baking powder, cocoa powder and sugar into a bowl and mix with a spoon.
Fold the beetroot mixture and oil into the flour mixture.

Grease your spring form and add the dough and bake in preheated oven at 200° Celsius for about 40 minutes.

Now on to the ganache. Bring double cream in a saucepan to boil. Mix in the chopped dark chocolate. The chocolate will melt slowly and you get a wonderful chocolate icing.

Let cake cool down and cover with chocolate ganache.
